Godly Play
|
|
Godly
Play is a storytelling session for 4 to 11 year olds which takes place
on Sunday mornings at 10.00 am, so that parents and carers can attend
the Church Service at the same time. Children are greeted and
settled then the story is told using carefully crafted materials.
The story may be from the bible or may be explaining Church
tradition and liturgy. Usually this is followed by a time of
reflection called the wondering time. Then each child is free to
respond either to the story or to anything else on their minds. A
range of art materials, books and all the stories are freely available.
We share a drink and small snack, referred to as the feast, and
have a short time of prayer before joining families at the end of the
service. Children find Godly play a relaxing, calm oasis in their
week, as well as a time to develop their spirituality and explore their
relationship with God.
This year we will have two storytellers, so we are able to offer far more Godly Play sessions.
The sessions will run at 10.00 am on the following Sundays:
12th February, 26th February
11th March, 25th March
22nd April
27th May
10th June
24th June
8th July
22nd July
23rd September
14th October, 28th October

We hope to welcome your children to as many of these session as possible.
