The organ in St. David's Church, Shenley Green, is a two
manual electric action instrument built by John Bowen of Northampton in
1970. Michael Thomas, one-time diocesan organ adviser, prepared the
basic design of the organ. His successor, Roy Massey, then organist at
Birmingham Cathedral made certain suggestions for revoicing it. The
organ incorporated some pipework from old organs, including some from
the organ in the Midland Institute in Birmingham. The organ console and
case are made of utile. The console has tab stops. The pipework faces
the congregation and is mounted on steel beams on the north side of the
sanctuary above the choir stalls.
