How St David’s helps people around the world in need.
One of the early decisions made by members of St.
David's was to tithe our income – to be aware that there are
others whose need is greater than ours, and to send help to those in
distress.
Regular news comes from what we call the "Umbrella" organisations –
Christian Aid,
Church Mission Society, Mission Aviation Fellowship, United Society for the propagation of the Gospel and the South American Mission Society.
These are already helping to organise schools, clinics
and hospitals as well as development programmes. When unexpected
disaster strikes they have a base from which to work and have access to
vehicles.
Other organisations have been bought to our notice by
individuals who want to share knowledge and enthusiasm with friends
here. These include charities like the Seed Corn Enterprises in Kenya
and Christ for All in Andhra Pradesh – a small team of Indians
who work in a poor rural district of South India.
